Our Story

I grew up here in Columbus, Ohio, where an early love of sports, the outdoors, and history shaped my appreciation for clothing—especially the way form and function intersect.

Before opening C. Field & Roe, I spent years working across the retail apparel world. I held roles in e-commerce merchandising, corporate fashion, and managing independent boutiques around the city, all while teaching myself the nuances of clothing design, merchandising, and the business side of the industry.

C. Field & Roe is the realization of a long-held dream: a classic men’s specialty store where a guy can find everything from everyday essentials and rugged sportswear to sharp tailoring. As an outdoorsman, it was important to me that the shop reflects that spirit as well.

My clothing philosophy blends American, English, and Italian traditions—combining the ease of American style with the softness of Italian fabrics and the heritage of English field wear. Since so much of menswear traces back to sport and military history, I gravitate toward pieces with those roots: well-made hunting jackets, military-inspired khakis, classic button-downs born from polo, the list goes on and on.

Outside the shop, I spend as much time as I can outdoors with my dog, Ralph, and with family and friends. I’m always trying to learn something new—whether it’s sporting clays or guitar. I also love mixing a good cocktail and watching old movies, both of which inspire the atmosphere and sensibility of the store.
